If you haven’t been to campus in a while, you’ll notice some exciting changes as part of Atlanta Next, a multi-stage capital and strategic investment plan that began in 2019 with the goal of transforming the AmericasMart business through enrichment of all categories and improvements to all buildings in our 7.2 million square foot campus in downtown Atlanta.
The most visible of these changes is the Building 1 Lobby and arrival experience. During the first two phases of this project, the floor and elevator banks were raised to bring the entire lobby on to one level. A wide staircase and escalator bay now bring you up from the Portman Boulevard entrance where a new registration lobby awaits. All three entrances to Building 1 – Portman Boulevard, Peachtree Street and Ted Turner Drive – are getting a facelift. Phase 3 will bring a new multistory lobby experience with dining and amenities plus improved connectivity to the Atlanta’s famed Peachtree Street.
In preparation for the relocation of the International Casual Furnishings Association’s (ICFA) markets to Atlanta in 2023, the lower floors of Building 1 are being redesigned into an all-new buying experience for the casual furnishings industry. This new collection will offer spacious, modern showrooms of design-driven outdoor living brands on four floors with an additional floor of dedicated space for temporary exhibits.
